Open Evening
We had another successful Open Evening on Wednesday night. We saw the biggest number of families looking around the school, seeing what the school offers. Feedback was positive.  Thank you to all who attended and staff who put in extra time and effort. The College is now accepting enrolments for 2018 at all levels. For further information or an enrolment pack, please phone Deirdre on 09 8392291. Enrolment forms are also available on our website.

It looks like the weather forecast for Saturday will be good. We look forward to this year's Gala, which has a slightly different format.  There are lots of stalls, food, fun and exciting rides for all. I look forward to seeing you there.

Parent Teacher Interviews
I would like to encourage you to attend our Parent/Teacher evening to discuss with the subject teachers any concerns you may have, or to clarify what steps you can take to extend your son. For senior students, it is an opportunity to find out how they can best attain the necessary credits on offer in their particular subjects. For all students, it is about helping them to achieve personal excellence. Information on booking an interview is included in this newsletter. Click HERE for information on booking an interview.

Unfortunately we will have limited access to the fields for the winter season. This is because of the extensive drainage work being done. The rugby field will be ready for 1 May. The cricketers will be the first to benefit from the extensive drainage work done.  Next season, Football, Rugby and Cricket should all benefit from this work.

New Building
The work being done on the new classroom block is progressing well. This is due for completion at the beginning of next year.

Sacramental Programme
Father Kevin is preparing 18 students for the Sacraments of Initiation and Confirmation. Students will receive the Sacraments on Liston Day, Friday 19 May at St Patrick's Cathedral in Auckland city. The Bishop will join us on that day, as well as Father Kevin. Families of the boys in the Sacramental Programme are very welcome to join us.

Father Kevin is more than willing to assist with baptisms and weddings.  If you are unable to arrange these through your Parish, Father Kevin is more than happy to assist you.  Please contact the school in the first instance and we will put you in touch with him.

Congratulations to:
To TJ Paea who came 2nd in the Senior Boys 100m Final at the Greater Auckland Athletics meeting on Tuesday. Well done TJ.

We have 3 Old Boys who have been selected to represent their respective countries for the upcoming Rugby U20’s Oceania Championship, starting April 28th on the Gold Coast.

Adrian Choat – New Zealand
Godinet Tinei – Samoa
Mosese Sokiveta - Fiji

Adrian Choat's achievement is impressive.  Josh Blackie was the last Old Boy to make the NZ Rubgy U21's in 1999 and 2000.

God Bless you and your families.
