Scripture Quote

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:12,13

“When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Matthew 6:16-18

At assemblies we have presented different ways for the students to recognise Lent. The idea of giving things up or making a sacrifice has been discussed, as well as making positive moves that the boys may not naturally do. It is pleasing to note that a large number of boys have attended the lunchtime Mass since Lent started. This is also true for attendance at the Rosary on Thursday mornings before school.

I would like to acknowledge Mrs Jeanette Atebelo who has prepared the staff room prayer table and in front of the altar in the Chapel, with the Lenten theme. They are very creative and reflective.

Edmund Rice Leadership Camp
Thank you to Brother Damien Price, Mrs Skelton and Mr O'Hanlon for their organisation of the Edmund Rice Leadership Camp. Students from the five Edmund Rice Schools in New Zealand were there. It as a very successful networking event for these schools. Brother Damien has also facilitated the Prefects Retreat this week.
