February continues to be a busy month in the life of the school. On Monday we had the Mihi Whakatau, welcoming newcomers to the school, Tuesday the students had their ID photos taken and on Wednesday the PTFA hosted a BBQ for new students and their families. On Monday 20 February we have our Inaugural Mass where we commission our new student leaders.

The students are looking forward to the Athletics Days which are being held on Thursday 23 & Friday 24 February. Parents are welcome to come along to support their son(s).

NCEA Results for 2016
Below is a table of our results for 2016.  I have shown a comparison with national figures to show how successful Liston College is in the NCEA achievement. I would like to congratulate the staff and the students who have worked hard to achieve these levels of succcess. I look forward to our current NCEA students contributing to even better results this year.

Scholarships
We also had success in the scholarship exams, with 4 Scholarships being achieved. Daniel Scherrer - Biology & Chemistry; Craig Vaz - Chemistry; Isaac Fastnedge - Economics. Congratulations to the students and to their teachers.

Year 8 Camp
I visited the Year 8 camp in Karapiro on Thursday. The boys were having a fantastic time, being involved in many activities. It has been a successful week for students and staff alike. I wish to thank Mr Lord and his team for the thorough organisation and supervision. I also wish to acknowledge the parents who gave up their time to assist with the camp. Principal's Scholarship
Applications are now open for two Principal's Scholarships of $1,000 each.  This is open to current Year 8 and Year 9 students. Full details and an application form are available from the school office, by emailing info@liston.school.nz or by clicking HERE. Applications close Friday 3 March 2017.

2017 Gala
The PTFA have started planning for the annual school Gala which is to be held on Saturday, 1 April 2017.  All proceeds raised from the Gala go back to the College for the benefit of all. If you know of a business, or have a business that would like to donate items, vouchers for services or who would like to sponsor a stall, please contact Julia Stuart : 09 833 3012.
