Dear Parents and Caregivers

Thank you
To members of staff, parents and caregivers who supported our students leading up to and during their examinations. It was good to see the commitment and hard work put into their work by the boys as they stretched themselves to reach their goals.

Prize Giving
Thank you to everyone involved in our Prize Giving on Tuesday 5 November—attended by Bishop Patrick Dunn DD and other special guests which included parents/caregivers who came along to help celebrate with us. It was a smooth rolling out of awards for excellence. Burhan Kapasi was our Dux for 2013, Mr Keith Roberts was presented with the Frank Huckle Cup for ‘Teacher of the Year’ and the Edmund Rice Cup for ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Life of the School 2013’ went to Mrs Simone Ryan. Congratulations to you all and to the other students / teams that received awards that night. A very memorable evening of celebrations.

BYOD Planning
I have a group of staff who are working on a proposal to introduce BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) gradually to the College. They are looking at starting this next year. You are probably aware of other schools having this initiative in place to help improve teaching and learning. I will keep you up to date on developments.

Year 10 Camp
I wish the Year 10 students and staff well at the camp which is being held at Tawharanui. Each year this is a challenging yet rewarding experience for the boys. It is always well organised and is an opportunity for students to grow. We look forward to hearing about their time away.

Prayer Garden
The official Opening and Blessing of the Liston College Prayer Garden was a special time. This was held on Saturday 2 November with representatives from the College and representatives from the families of students and staff who have passed away during their time at the College. Photos of the Blessing are included in this newsletter.

Uniform Information
On Saturday, 11 January 2014 Elizabeth Michael, our uniform suppliers will have an open day in the school gymnasium. Included in this newsletter is the price list for 2014.

God bless you and your families.
