  1. The Liston College Strategic Plan was developed in 2001 through public consultation and implemented in 2002.  This was fully reviewed during late 2005 / early 2006 and rewritten / reformatted during the year in a draft form. A process of public consultation took place during the year and the Board of Trustees ratified the Draft Strategic Plan in October 2006.
  2. The Board of Trustees will review annually, the strategic plan that sets out goals to raise levels of student achievement in all core areas of the curriculum (Nag 2).  The goals will reflect the ongoing learning needs of the students and the means to address those.
  3. Each year targets will be set, based on identified needs of students.  These targets will be evaluated and help inform future goals and targets.  The Board will report annually to the Ministry of Education on how it has meet targets.
  4. The School’s Management and Board Committees will compile for the Boards approval, an Annual Operations Plan which details priorities and activities the school will undertake in order to effectively meet it’s targets.
  5. Liston College’s Strategic Plan and Annual Operations Plan will take into account the broader demands of:
    • The Catholic Schools Office
    • The Ministry of Education
    • Achieving @ Waitakere
    • The Tertiary Education Commission
  6. Other school based plans / strategic plans that underpin this Charter / Strategic Plan include but are not limited to:

    • Maori and Pasifika Strategic Plans
    • ICT Strategic Plan
    • Numeracy and Literacy Plans
    • Curriculum Development Plan

  7. The BOT and Senior Management will consult with relevant stakeholders when:
    • Reviewing the Strategic Plan
    • Compiling  Annual Operations Plan
  8. The BOT will develop a complementary Self- Review Document, which will become a regular part of the schools operations. This will assist the BOT in:
    • Examining the current situation
    • Setting future gaols and objectives
    • Assisting the implementation of plans
    • Monitoring and reporting
